Forest Defense Version 0.3!

Hello there! Here's the new version and I hope you enjoy it! ;)

Download: Forest Defense Demo v0.31

-9 Levels (more than 1 hour of gameplay)
-6 different enemies and a Boss.
-Rebalanced enemies, allies and plants.
-Experience System (enemies drop experience points, you gain special skills like improved defense, improved damage, regeneration and pixie attraction).
-You can now see your enemies' hitpoints and the damage you're dealing them.
-Improved Sound.

-A new plant (the thistle bush).
-New allies: redcaps, redcap cocoons, partridges.

Version 0.22 is out!

New Version ready for download!

Here it is. Not as polished as I would have wanted but it was now or never. :P
Oh, save files from previous versions are also compatible with this one so you don't need to start from scratch if you don't want to.
Hope you like it!

Download: Forest Defense Demo v0.22

-Fairy Grass: You can now grow fairy grass after tuning yourself to a Fairy Stone. Fairy grass slows down enemies and turn pixies into flying fairies.
-Guardian Flowers: If you cover a fertile soil tile with Fairy Grass you can then spend your fairy energies(the ones you get from catching fairies instead of pixies) to grow a new type of plant. Once you plant the main bush you can then grow different defensive flowers on it depending on the stone you're tuned to. It acts like some sort of customizable tower.
-Militiamen: Stronger versions of the Peasant enemy. Still not animated though.
-New levels: 3 new levels that get progressively difficult. Hopefully. :P
-New Running Animation: Took me hours and it still needs a lot of work... well, at least she's moving again!

New Demo Version!

New Demo version released!

Only minor changes this time but I'll upload a new one as soon as I get the new animations for the main character.

-Mushrooms: We now have life mushrooms, poison mushrooms, pixie mushrooms and fairy mushrooms. They can all be eaten for different effects (avoid the poisonous one though).
-New Girl: She's no longer naked but she's still missing her animations. So she's kind of static right now. :P
-Bears: They're spawning at a better rate now.

Upcoming Features:

Greetings readers! :)

Now that we have the demo my next objective is to have a more complete alpha version available at indievania as soon as I can.
Stuff you can expect for next version:

1) An improved main character: We'll dress her up and improve her animations and postures.

2) Magic Mushrooms: We'll have mushrooms scattered through the levels that grant special skills and effects when eaten.

3) New Aura: The new Fairy Aura will be available. When tuned to a fairy stone you'll be able to grow a different type of grass that turns pixies into fairies and slows down and weakens enemies. With this new aura you'll also be able to plant carnivorous and dart shooting flowers as well as wild berry bushes.

4) New Allies: Fairies and Redcaps. The later are a hostile form of pixies that lay traps and cause extra damage to enemies but harm you when you try to pick them up for wild energies.

5) New Enemies: Militiamen, Mercenaries and Sheep(they eat grass!).

6) More Levels! :)

New Lighting System!

 Hello All, here I am again!

As you can see from the pic above, Forest Defense has a new lighting system now! I was taking a look at Gabriel Verdon's Blog, and I saw he had this article on a game maker extension called EasyLighting so I decided to give it a try and this seems to be the result. :)
So thanks to Gabriel Verdon for the link (you got to check his website and his game "Archer") and to Scyler_27, creator of this marvellous extension!

Website is Up!

Hi there and welcome to the site!
It's almost 4 o'clock in the morning so this is going to be a short first post!

I'm Okkwogg, designer and "programmer" of Forest Defense and I'll be updating this blog as often as I can. So, my non-existent readers, expect some new pictures and info for tomorrow!

Oh and let me introduce you to the other member of the team. His name is Viking-Heart and he is(was) the artist responsible for all you can see here!
